  • Dr. Stephanie Lee : Founder, CEO and Medical Director

Dr. Lee, a native of the Steele Creek area, has cherished animals for as long as she can remember. Her passion was ignited during a second-grade career fair, where she spent most of her time with the veterinarian and decided that she, too, would one day help animals. She pursued her dream at North Carolina State University, completing her undergraduate studies from 1990 to 1993 and earning her degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Dr. Lee spent a decade in general practice before transitioning to shelter medicine and spay/neuter services, where she actively advocates for animal welfare and works diligently to improve the lives of countless animals.

Outside of work, Dr. Lee's life is filled with activity, thanks to her vibrant daughter and their many rescued pets, including dogs, cats, hedgehogs, and goldfish. Over the years, her home has been a sanctuary for a variety of animals, including rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, birds, horses, and goats. Her hobbies reflect her love for life and nature: she enjoys Pilates, paddleboarding, reading, walking with her daughter and dogs, listening to music, attending concerts, gardening, and appreciating the local wildlife.
